    Complete, 8 volumes, leather covers and bindings. Beautiful new edition with preface by Anna Laetitia Barbauld. All pages are impeccable, bindings are sturdy however front covers have detached. Unrestored, untouched. Leather is dry and fragile. Published and printed in London by G. Woodfall. First page of this beautiful novel by Samuel Richardson is entitled "Clarissa or the History of a Young Lady, Comprehending the Most Important Concerns of Private Life". Includes an essay and preface by Anna Laetitia Barbauld, famous English woman author and literary critic who lived 1743-1825. These eight volumes are part of Barbauld's anthology of British novelists. Books come from the old Fraser Institute Library in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They have the library tag and donation name H. J. Tiffin, ESQ. Books measure 4 1/4" X 6 1/2".
